No 1. Patrolling Their Territory
Cats may think of their territory not only indoors, but also outdoors that they can see at the window. When they look outside, they may patrol their territory with their eyes.
No 2. Interesting Things Outside
Cats like windows because they can watch moving objects such as birds, flies, people or cars. Because they love moving things so much, they sit and watch at the window.
It’s like us watching TV. Don’t worry about your cat when she seems obsessed with the outside.
No 3. Cats in Heat
If an intact female cat in heat cries out at the window, she may try to find a mate. An intact male cat can scratch a window screen or roam around the front door to go out.
If your cat does it too much, close and cover the window with a curtain so that she/he is less exposed to external stimuli.
No 4. Warm Places
It is said that the ancestors of cats lived in desert areas. Cats tend to like warm places and they are sensitive to cold.
So, if your cat is sitting in the sunny window, she may be sunbathing. Cats like windows because it’s warm and they can see outside.
Keep Indoor Cats Indoors
Cats feel secure in their own territory. Indoor cats don’t feel depressed about not going outside.
Rather, they can get stressed out in unfamiliar environments.
If your cat seems bored at home, you can try getting cat furniture such as cat towers and cat wheels, or hunting toys.
