In order to gain a cat’s trust, you need to spend quality time with your cat. As cats are not always ready to play, it is important to know when they are bored and want you to play. Let's find out the signs your cat wants to play.
No 1. Staring at you
You might have noticed your cat staring at you as you were looking at cell phone or computer for a while. Cats sometimes keep looking at us when they desire for more attention.
No 2. Following everywhere
Cats often follow us around to get our attention. If your cat has been fed and the bathroom is clean, it is likely your cat wants you to play.
No 3. Rubbing against you
Rubbing is one of cats’ language of affection. If your cat rubs her cheeks against you, cuddle her and spend some time playing with her.
No 4. Showing their belly
Cats sometimes roll on their back and show their belly. This is like your cat is telling you “I am comfortable, and I trust you” So, you would want to start to play with your cat.
Keep in mind exposing belly has nothing to do with obedience unlike dogs. So, rubbing or petting their tummies is not a good idea.
No 5. Bringing their toys
If you cat brings their toys or walks around, it is a sign your cat is ready for playtime. Let’s stop what you are doing and spend time playing with your cat.
No 6. Bothering you
When you are working on something like laptop or smartphone, your cat might start to bother you as sitting on it and meow. This means your cat wants your attention. If not urgent, spend some time playing with your cat.
No 7. Excessive meowing
Cats sometimes cry loud as if looking for her mother. If your cat is healthy but cries badly, you would rather ignore as it may become a habit.
However, your cat would need more playtime if she spent long hours alone at home.
No 8. Being mischievous
Your cat may drop some stuff like a cup or disturb a room to get your attention. This means your cat needs more playtime with you. Also, most of their destructive behaviors are natural reactions for cats.
Therefore, you need to create a cat-friendly home that is safe for both cats and humans.
If you don’t spend some time playing together, you will not be able to gain your cat’s trust. As playing is important for cats to relieve stress, you should take at least 15 to 30 minutes to play a day.
